FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A break in at a Fresno home – ends in the death of a pony.
Early Monday morning, a family in South West Fresno noticed that their pet pony, Plomo had either escaped or was taken from the yard in the dark, after thieves broke in to steal a leaf blower.
The family told the Merced Sun Star when they called police to report the animal was missing.
They were told the pony had been struck and killed by a driver on Golden State near Cherry Avenue.
Police say the man was driving to work and did not see the animal in the darkness and fog.
Fresno Police have not identified any suspects from the burglary.
