FRESNO,CA (KMJ) – CCSPCA Humane officers save horses from animal cruelty -one of them was hogtied.
In March, CCSPCA officers responded to a complaint at a home in Fresno, finding a stallion, a mare, and young foal that they say belonged to the landlord.
All their hooves were overgrown, the mare was severely emaciated, and the foal (above) was crippled and lethargic.
SPCA officers returned days later to seize the animals, the mare was found hogtied and lying on the ground.

The foal had never developed properly and was living with “intense chronic pain.”
Shortly after being rescued the SPCA said the foal had to be euthanized.
The SPCA said a sonogram has now revealed the mare (above) is 10 months pregnant and due any day.
