(KMJ) – Clovis Police and the Clovis Unified School District put out a joint news release detailing the arrest of a Buchanan High Student on charges of making alleged school threats.
The District says it received at tip Monday afternoon about 18-year old Kyle Dwelle and his alleged threats made toward fellow students at Buchanan High School. District officials and Clovis Police then began their investigation that ended with Dwelle’s arrest. He now faces two counts of criminal threats of death or great bodily injury.
Clovis Unified Superintendent Eimer O’Farrell says this case serves as a reminder that any and all threats made on the safety of students or schools will be taken seriously. And she encourages anyone who becomes aware of any concerning statements to report it immediately to the school and law enforcement.
As a precaution, both Clovis Police and CUSD officials will increase their presence at all Clovis Unified schools for the rest of the week.
