Study: Raw Fruits & Vegetables Better for the Brain

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Increasing the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables you eat may result in improve brain function.

That’s among the findings of a new study, published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology, which compared the intake of raw foods to those cooked or canned.

The top raw fruits and vegetables linked to better mental health were apples, bananas, grapefruit, kiwi, spinach, and carrots.

Researchers say those in the study who ate more of those foods had fewer mental issues, such as depression.
