FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A Kern County man found guilty of stalking and trying to kill his ex-girlfriend is sentenced.
Louis Truman Magee, Jr. was convicted of a slew of charges for the premeditated attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend.
Over a 5 month period starting in January of 2017, Magee repeatedly stalked and threatened his ex-girlfriend, until on May 1st he violated a restraining order, arriving at her home. There, he tried to hit one of the responding police officers with his vehicle and led them on a high-speed chase.
The next week he was again caught trying to break into her home.
Officers found him hiding in his car with a murder kit, included items to kill his victim and dispose of her body.
Kern County District Attorney Lisa Green says Magee was sentenced to 14 years and 4 months to life for the crimes.
