Attorney General Xavier Becerra At Fresno Roundtable Discussion

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Attorney General Xavier Becerra visted Fresno on Friday for a roundtable discussion.

The discussion was hosted by Assembly Member Joaquin Arambula, joined by other Valley leaders, and key community members from non profits to businesses and law enforcement.

At the heart of the talks was keeping the Valley safe, healthy, and prosperous.

Immigration was one hot issue that’s affecting the Valley as farmers are lose workers, fearing deportation, and “dreamers” brought to the U.S. illegally as children, are waiting for the day to come that they are sent from the States.

Attorney General Becerra commented about the the fear of ICE raids, saying law-abiding people need to know their rights under the Constitution.

Fresno’s Police Chief Jerry Dyer was there on the panel, and plans to meet again on Saturday with the Attorney General to talk about how the softening of laws, through Prop 57, is making it harder to fight crime.
