Charges Filed Against Man Accused of Damaging Fresno City Hall Fountain

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Felony charges are filed against the man accused of damaging Fresno City Hall’s fountain

30 year-old Charles William Stanphill was already arrested last June for stealing copper wire from Fulton Street.

He’s now back in custody –facing more charges

The Fresno County DA’s Office has announced he’ll face felony charges – vandalism and grand theft -all for allegedly pulling copper wire from the fountain outside Fresno City Hall… and damaging it in the process.

If convicted of the current charges, Stanphill faces up to four years in custody.

Stanphill is currently in custody at the Fresno County Jail awaiting his arraignment
