FRESNO, CA (KMJ)- The identity of a woman whose body was found in a Fresno canal has been released.
Just before 2:30pm, on December 3rd, a motorist reported seeing an injured person lying in a dry canal near the intersection of Brawley and Jensen Avenue.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and determined the woman was actually dead.
Sheriff’s Spokesperson Tony Botti says Fresno’s Coroner is on the case.
“We have identified the woman, her name is Debora Deaver, she is a 48 year old resident of Fresno. our staff at the Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy on her. We didn’t have anything concrete to rule what her cause of death was so we are going to wait for toxicology tests before making that determination.” -Tony Botti, Sheriff’s Spokesperson.
Botti says homicide detectives are investigating this case as a questionable death.
