FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Gubernatorial candidate and current state treasurer John Chiang is urging the California State Teachers’ Retirement System to drop its stakes in companies, who sell weapons and ammunition that are illegal in the Golden State.
The proposal was drafted in response to the Las Vegas massacre.
CalSTRS says it’s trying to determine how it would affect their investments.
