Feds Clarify Position on Twin Tunnels Project

The Federal Government clarifies its position on Governor Brown’s twin tunnels project.

A day after the Associated Press reports that the U.S. Interior Department is not supporting the twin tunnels project, the department now says it will continue working with the state on it.

The $17 billion dollar project for building two 35-mile long tunnels to channel water from north to southern California under the Bay Delta would be funded by water districts and run by the state.

But the Federal Government would need to give final approval to those plans.
