FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A 20-year-old Fresno woman has disappeared, now Fresno police are looking into possible scenarios
Lucy Xiong left her home on Friday, July 28, after an argument with her mother.
She was speaking on her cell phone with her boyfriend but the call dropped suddenly and Xiong has not been heard from since.
Fresno Police say there was a report of a drowning person that came in at a Canal at McKinley and first Street – it was 25 minutes after her boyfriend last spoke to her, but her family did not report her missing until the next day, and the two incidents were never connected.
The boyfriend says he heard gravel crunching as she was talking on the cell phone, then she swore and the call suddenly dropped, and she never heard from again.
Police Chief Jerry Dyers says they are conducting a parallel investigation with both a missing person investigation and also searching the canal with Sheriff’s Office divers and a Fresno Fire Department camera, and they’re also working to lower the water so they can do a more thorough search.
Her credit cards were used over a dozen times since her disappearance, police are looking for the people using them – and possibly more clues to her disappearance.
