FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Deadly shootings of civilians by police officers are less common, in states with tougher gun restrictions.
That’s according to a new study published in the American Journal of Public Health, which says states who’ve enacted strict gun laws have essentially cut such shootings in half.
The findings add to existing data about the correlation between gun ownership and injuries.
Researchers say revised federal gun laws could be beneficial.
