FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The San Joaquin Valley Air District is offering incentives for zero-emission lawn mower purchases.
They’re offering rebates of $250 in an effort to get local residents to abandon their gas-powered mowers.
To qualify, you’ll have to take your old mower to an authorized dismantling company, and submit paperwork within 30 days of buying an electric mower to the district.
Officials say running a gas-powered mower for an hour can emit as much as a dozen late-model vehicles.
