FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The rusty patch bumble bee is back on the list of endangered species.
The bee — responsible for pollinating cranberries, tomatoes, and peppers — was the first to be placed on the list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The addition occurred back in January under the Obama Administration.
However, President Donald Trump issued an executive order, freezing new environmental regulations for 60 days.
The Natural Resources Defense Council filed a lawsuit, seeking a reversal.
They say the return of the endangered status for the rusty patch bumble bee, is a vital part of keeping it from becoming extinct.
