FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A new study from Yale University and Hartford’s Institute for Living, finds that college students who moderately or heavily smoke marijuana and drink alcohol, tend to get lower grades.
It involved 1,100 college freshman, over 4 semesters.
Those who got high, but seldom drank, were most likely to skip class.
The study’s authors say while their findings aren’t exactly surprising, they hope they’ll help students realize the potential effects of substance abuse, and encourage them to avoid peer pressure.
