FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A 28-year-old man has arrested for allegedly beating a female co-worker to death at a power plant in southeast Fresno. The two co-workers did not work at the Rio Bravo Power Plant, where the incident occurred, but were contract workers hired for a project.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says after lunch something occurred between the two which resulted in the man hitting the woman with an object. She was injured to the point to where she fell to the ground and became unconscious. Workers saw the woman in trouble and tried to help her. Some performed CPR, while others detained the suspect. An ambulance arrived and medics continued CPR, but the woman died. Deputies arrived on scene and arrested the suspect.
The identities of the suspect and victim have not yet been released. This marks the third homicide of 2017 in Fresno County.
