Flood Watches & Evacuations In Central Valley

FRESNO, CA (KMJ ) -Flooding is wreaking havoc in areas of Central California, Mariposa, experience flooding in large part to the fact there’s so much debris from drought-stricken trees snapping and clogging the water from draining. Oakhurst is also experiencing flooding, that is washing away debris. Yosemite National Park announced Tuesday that Highway 120 is closed because of a rock fall. The National Park also says there’s water and debris on both El Portal Highway 140, and Highway 41. All visitors heading to the park are encouraged to drive with caution.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office issued MANDATORY EVACUATIONS in North Fork in the following areas:

East Side of Church Street

-Bass Lake Mobile Home Park

Be aware of rising water levels and evaluate your conditions. Residents who live in these areas or other areas threatened by rising water levels should immediately evacuate to the EV Free Church at 50443 Road 427 in Oakhurst (Near Yosemite High School).

This is a MANDATORY Evacuation Order.

 

The Sheriff’s Office also issued an evacuation warning for the following areas in Cedar Valley:

-Lake Side Drive (South of Fire Station)

Cedar Place

-Deer Run Trail Road

-Lazy Oak Drive

 

Please exercise extreme caution and avoid these areas:

-Bass Lake, Road 432 at Angel Falls

-Oakhurst, Road 426 & Civic Circle

-Hidden Falls Road

-Lewis Creek at Shady Lane and Scenic Drive
