FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A man jailed for the attempted murder of his then-pregnant wife and engaged in a standoff with Fresno police is dead in an apparent jail suicide.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Manuel Servin appears to have hanged himself using some fabric and the table inside his cell.
Servin’s wife died a few weeks after the shooting, but the baby was delivered via c-section and survived. According to booking records, Servin’s charges had not been upgraded to murder.
