FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Of the thousands of fake chargers for iPhones and iPads sold each year, an estimated 99 percent of them fail safety tests.
According to a new study, commissioned by the United Kingdom’s protection body, the chargers lack sufficient insulation to protect users from shock, which also increases the risk of fire.
However, don’t just assume that chargers with an Apple logo are genuine.
A recent test by the tech giant found that about 90 percent of goods marked as ‘genuine’ by online retailers are fake.
