FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The federal government has imposed $1 trillion dollars in regulations since 2005, according to a new study from the business-friendly American Action Forum, examining regulatory compliance costs during the Bush and Obama administrations.
It claims those burdens have resulted in fewer jobs, lower wages, and higher prices.
The federal government, meanwhile, estimates the regulations have only cost about $745 billion.
