FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — American mothers are not resorting to physical discipline as often.
The percentage of moms at the median income level who approve of corporal punishment, according to new data published in the journal Pediatrics, fell from 46 percent to 21 percent, between 1988 and 2011.
Researchers say more parents across all income and education levels, are endorsing nonphysical discipline, and talking with their children.
However, the study did have some limitations, including its reliance on self-reporting.
