(KMJ) – The search continues for the suspects who opened fire on a Madera Police cruiser during a chase early Sunday morning.
An officer and a female civilian on a ride-along attempted to make a traffic stop of a a Mazda SUV traveling west on Howard Road at Schnoor Avenue just after 4:30 am Sunday. But, the vehicle sped off and began driving through a neighborhood.
During the chase that ensued, a passenger inside the SUV began firing at the Police vehicle with an AR-15.

The officer was not injured during the incident. The civilian ride along received minor scratches from broken glass.
The Mazda was later found abandoned on Krest Street a few blocks from where the pursing officer last saw the vehicle. Officer’s searched the area and located an AR15 style pistol and other evidence.
Now, anyone with information about these shooting suspects is asked to contact the Madera Police Department.
