FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – October 20th is “Purple Thursday”, which is meant to bring awareness to domestic violence. The entire month of October is actually “Domestic Violence Awareness Month”.
Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp says wearing purple on one day makes a statement.
“Making people who are victims of domestic violence see something that’s done in public, it makes those people feel safe,” said Smittcamp. “And it makes them feel there are people who care about them.”
