FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Central Valley Water Project has begun the new water year with 4.9 million acre-feet, in a half-dozen key reservoirs.
According to U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, that’s 82 percent of the 15-year average annual carryover.
The bureau says while that’s an improvement over last year, significant challenges remain.
The Golden State is officially in its 6th-straight year of drought.
