Gov. Brown Signs Bill to Restore Voting Rights for Certain Felons

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A bill to restore the voting rights of tens of thousands of felons in the Golden State, has been signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown.

The controversial legislation states that anyone convicted of a felony who are not current in prison or on parole, may take part in an election.

The measure was written in response the prison realignment law, which moved some offenders to county jails, as certain crimes have been reclassified.
