FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Fair Political Practices Commission is looking into claims that the California Democratic Party illegally funneled money from oil and energy companies, to the campaigns of high-profile leaders, such as that of Gov. Jerry Brown.
Consumer Watchdog alleges that between 2011 and 2014, the party was used as a “pass-through,” to “reward legislative or regulatory action,” which benefited companies like Chevron and PG&E.
The FPPC confirms that it’s investigating the Democratic Party, but not the politicians named in the complaint.
