Campaign Launched to Encourage CA College Students to Vote

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The UC, CSU, and California Community Colleges systems are partnering with the Secretary of State’s Office, to bolster voter registration on every publicly funded college and university in the Golden State.

The campaign is estimated to reach 2.7 million students.

It includes all-campus e-mails, containing voter education and deadline notifications.

Voter participation remains low in California.

Back in 2014, only 52 percent of eligible youth were registered to vote, and a mere 8 percent cast a ballot.
