FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Fresno County’s unemployment rate rose to 9.4 percent in June, an increase of 1 percent from May.
However, the rate is still below that for June of 2015.
Year-over-year, county employment has increased by 15,600 jobs.
Most of the gains have been seen in government, trade, transportation, and utilities, as well as education and health services.
Jobless rates were also up in Madera, Merced, Tulare, Kern, and Kings counties last month.
Statewide, the unemployment rate rose to 5.4 percent.
