DA Files Charges Against Man Accused Of Homicide By Car

FRESNO (KMJ) – The Fresno County District Attorney has filed criminal charges against a man accused of murdering another man with his car.

On Monday, Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives say 31-year old Saul Mendoza intentionally struck and killed 38-year old Sigifredo Gomez as he was getting out of a car on Nebraska and De Wolf near Selma.

Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims says Gomez was currently dating Mendoza’s ex girl friend, who was in the car at the time.

Mendoza has been charged with a felony count of murder as well as a special allegation of using a car as a deadly weapon.

He faces life behind bars if convicted.

Mendoza is being arraigned on Thursday, July 21st.
