FRESNO (KMJ) – Kings County is reminding parents to get kids their vaccinations
Vaccinations should be on every child’s back-to-school check list, and the Kings County Health Department wants to make sure kids are up-to-date before the school year begins.
Those children attending child care or preschool, transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, or entering the 7th grade, and any child coming into a new school district, especially if coming from outside of California – needs to be up to date.
Kings County schools start the 2nd & 3rd week of August.
Cost should not be a barrier for childhood vaccinations.
Children without any health coverage or those children whose insurance doesn’t cover vaccines may qualify for free vaccination under the National Vaccines for Children program.
Talk to your doctor or call the Kings County Department of Public Health for more information.
Make sure you bring your child’s yellow immunization card and health insurance card or Medi-Cal card with you when you take them for immunizations.
