FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Urban residential water use fell by 28.2 percent during May, compared to the same month in 2013.
The State Water Resources Control Board says that’s a savings of nearly 58 billion gallons.
In the first 12 months of mandatory conservation for non-farm users, local suppliers saved enough water for 8 million people for one year.
Despite a relatively wet winter, 60 percent of the Golden State remains in a severe drought, making ongoing conservation a necessity.
