Jury Clears Fresno PD in Fatal Shooting of a Woman

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Fresno Police Department has been cleared in the 2014 fatal shooting of a woman.

A federal jury has ruled that police were justified in using deadly force, against 48-year-old Veronica Canter, who was armed with kitchen knives, during a confrontation with officers near Fresno State.

A few weeks prior to the incident, Canter was arrested for lying naked in the roadway.
