FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Opioids, in addition to being potentially addictive and even deadly, also appear to make chronic pain worse.
According to a new study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, only 5 days of morphine had a negative, long-term effect on pain.
Researchers call it an ugly side to opioids that previously wasn’t recognized.
