FRESNO (KMJ) — Fresno Police say an elderly woman is being held for the murder of her husband.
Officers state that the body was discovered on Thursday, May 12th inside Gloria Villa’s Fresno home, near Shields and Blythe, west of Highway 99.
They say they found her 78-year old husband Bernie deceased. He was thought to have been dead for several weeks and his body was covered with sheets of newspaper.
Due to concerns about her physical and mental health, Gloria Villa was taken to CRMC for evaluation and treatment. She has since been transferred to Fresno Co. Jail where she’s being held on more than a million dollars bail.
Investigators add that statements and physical evidence point towards the dead man being murdered. Gloria Villa was arrested and charged with the homicide of her husband on Tuesday May 17th.
