FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Fresno County added 10,100 jobs during April, bringing the unemployment down rate from 10.6 percent to 9.7 percent.

The agriculture industry posted a normal seasonal increase, with a gain of about 6,400 positions.

The jobless rates also declined in Madera, Merced, Tulare, and Kings counties.

Statewide, it’s down to 5.3 percent.
