FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The first quarter of 2016 saw the housing market perform at its highest level since 2008.
A new analysis by MetroStudy shows housing starts rose by 22 percent in an eight-county region, stretching from Stanislaus County to Kern County.
Merced County saw the strongest growth at 134 percent.
Annual housing starts for the first three months rose by 19 percent, here in Fresno County.
MetroStudy predicts the Central Valley housing market will remain steady, over the course of the next year.
