(KMJ) – Fresno Police make an arrest in shooting and beating of a 44-year old woman that happened earlier this month.
On Wednesday morning just after midnight, officers spotted the vehicle of 37-year old Joseph Avila in a neighborhood near Kearny and Merced. Police say he is an identifed gang member currently on federal probation. He is also the suspect wanted in connection to the assault on a woman near Floridora and Ninth back on April 13th.
Fresno Police surrounded a residence where he was believed to be staying. After 30 minutes, Avila exited the residence and surrendered. Joseph Avila was booked into the Fresno County jail for Assault With a Deadly Weapon, being a felon in possession of ammunition and a federal probation warrant.
