FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Lawyers for thousands of owners of VW diesels containing software to fool emissions tests, are asking a judge to order repairs and compensation, if the company doesn’t agree to a fix by Thursday.
The request was made in a proposed agenda, for a hearing in San Francisco.
The owners want an expedited hearing or a trial to get an order for “equitable relief,” that would begin in July, or a full trial, which would include punitive damages against Volkswagen.
VW claims a trial is inappropriate, as progress is apparently being made toward a fix and compensation, which could be revealed on Thursday.
