Parole Recommended for Leslie Van Houten

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Parole is being recommend for the youngest member of the notorious Manson cult.

66-year-old Leslie Van Houten was convicted of double murder back in 1969.

Van Houten, who was 19-years-old when she followed Charles Manson, has previously apologized for her role in the brutal killings, and said she was “deeply ashamed” of her crime.

The parole board’s recommendation now heads to Governor Jerry Brown.
