(KMJ) – Fresno Police says its department received multiple calls early Sunday morning for reports of two people armed with rifles in the area of North Parkway and East Olive.
Officers quickly converged on a large group gathered in that area. As they did one of the subjects, a 15 year old male juvenile, ran. Officers detained him and discovered he had a concealed rifle down his pant leg. The juvenile was placed under arrest.
As officers were on scene, they received an additional call that a second rifle was discarded as officers were driving up. The discarded firearm was said to be in the adjacent Executive Inn parking lot trash can. The individual was detained and an infield-show up was conducted and a 14 year old male juvenile subject was positively identified as the second individual armed with the rifle.
The second suspect had a criminal history which included a recent robbery conviction which he is currently on probation for.
Police say the two suspects and their group were attempting to rent a hotel room at the Executive Inn and Motel 6. But got their guns in frustration after being denied by both locations.
