FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — You might think a glass of wine or a beer at dinner time, can help you live a longer, healthier life.

However, according to a recent review of 90 previous studies, so-called moderate drinkers do not live longer than nondrinkers.

HealthDay reports occasional drinkers, those who consume alcohol less than every 10 days, appear to be the healthiest.

But, some researchers say that could even be a statistical fluke, because that may not be enough alcohol to influence health. They add that occasional drinking is more of a marker of good health, as opposed to a cause.
