Trauma Centers used a substantial amount of blood over the past 48 hours and they are trying to catch up.

“Central California Blood Center is the sole provider for blood for the five county area in the Ventral Valley and we service 30 hospitals, each and every day we need to collect 200-300 pints of blood and that equals about 5000-7000 pints of blood every month.” Rob Walker, Communications, Central California Blood Center.

The Central California Blood Center says it’s critical to have more O Negative donors a the supply has dropped to just 9% and they urgently need eligible o-negative donors to come in as soon as they can.

“You can come into any one of our donor centers, we have three here in Fresno, one in Visalia, you can pop into any of our donor centers, no appointment needed or you can go on our website and see where our mobile drives are at.” – Dean Eller, President, CEO Central California Blood Center.
