(KMJ) The preliminary hearing for former CHP Assistant Chief Kyle Scarber, his wife and stepdaughter, continued Thursday in Fresno Superior Court.
The Scarbers are accused of helping their son, Spencer Scarber, flee to Mexico during his rape trial in 2012.
A retired CHP Sergeant testified Thursday that after his arrest in Acapulco, Spencer Scarber told him that he had acquired a smart phone while on the lam and was following his trial on the internet. He was eventually convicted of rape. All three are all facing charges of helping Spencer flee the country.
We should find out soon if the judge says there’s enough evidence for them to stand trial.
