FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Fresno County unemployment rate rose to 10.6 percent in January, with a loss of 4,700 jobs.

However, that’s below the rate of 12.1 percent seen during January of 2015, and is the county’s lowest since 2007.

Farm employment had an increase of about 2,100 jobs.

The jobless rates rose in Tulare and Kings counties, while Madera County experienced a slight decrease.

Statewide, it’s down to 5.7 percent.
