FRESNO (KMJ) — If you’d like to find out what it’s like to be (or help translate) Fresno Chaffee Zoo’s mascot, it just so happens they’re hiring.

A number of positions have found their way onto the local attraction’s careers page, including one for ‘Mascot/Attendant’.

The successful applicant would be responsible for portraying ‘Taman the Tiger’, a Malayan tiger who was first introduced last June, or helping as Taman’s interpreter and safety companion.

“We really want to start branding ourselves”, says Fresno Chaffee’s Sierra Norton. “The tiger was just a great choice because they are such a strong species and we do play a big role in their conservation so it just made a lot of sense for us to have a tiger mascot”.

If that doesn’t take your fancy there are other positions too, including opportunities to become zoo keepers. Closing dates are between March 6th and March 20th and a link to the application page can be found clicking here.
