FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Newly-proposed legislation calls for barring California state employees, from traveling to states with an LGBT bias, on the taxpayers’ dime.

Introduced by Democratic Assemblyman Evan Low, it would target states that have “a law in effect that sanctions or requires discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.”

Indiana, for example, makes it easier for citizens to demand exemptions from anti-discrimination laws, by permitting lawsuits which challenge them on the grounds of religious beliefs.

However, Low has yet to determine exactly which states would be affected.
