UPDATE: The U.S. Geological Survey update the magnitude to 4.8.
(KMJ) Fresno – A shallow magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Tuesday February 23rd, at 4:02 PM, centered three miles from Wasco, north of Bakersfield at a depth of 0 miles.
At the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in Bakersfield, a dispatcher said the office got “a pretty good jolt,” but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
People reported feeling the quake in several surrounding counties, including Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles.
Some Fresno residents reported feeling the quake.
The quake was about 150 miles south of one of similar size in central California a week earlier.
