FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — After making an insurance claim over $2,000, U.S. drivers see an average increase of 44 percent, according to the San Francisco-based InsuranceQuotes.com
Here in California, it can be even more; a single claim can lead to a premium hike of 78 percent.
If that isn’t bad enough, a second claim within a year can lead to a 98 percent increase.
The type of claim makes a difference. Those involving bodily injuries or property damage are the most costly, while non-collision claims are the least expensive.
