FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Nearly 660 data breaches were reported to the State of California, between 2012 and 2015.

That’s according to a new report from Attorney General Kamala Harris, which shows that over 49 million records of personal information were compromised.

In 2015, 24 million Californians’ records were at risk, meaning up to 3 in 5 residents may been victims.

Breaches have occurred in both the public and private sectors, and health care appears to be the biggest target.
