FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A Fresno woman has died from the flu.
A relative tells KMJ News 42-year-old Sophia Lopez passed away at Kaiser Wednesday evening.
Statewide, more residents are coming down with the influenza this month.
However, this season appears to be far less dangerous than those of past years.
The California Department of Public Health says 12 Californians under 65 have died from the flu since October.
At this time last year, there had been 25 deaths.
